Hawaii Todaiji prays to the buddha of compassionate fire, Fudo Myoo sama, who guides us with teachings to find our happiness.
Gomagi(wooden Sticks)
During the ceremony we offer wooden stick with our prayers written upon them in front of the Buddha. The fire embodies the wisdom of the Buddha and the wood symbolizes our sins that we are born with. We ask the that the fire burns away our suffering as we ask for our prayers to be heard.
